Individual Class Member Details
I am heavily involved with DrugFreeWilco and the diversion center (Preventing Incarceration in Communities) Cedar has in collaboration with the DrugFreeWilco, the District Attorney's Office, the Public Defenders's Office, and Middle Tennessee State University. I would love the opportunity to be involved in more activities to grow relationships and support others.
One issue and problem that has come to light is that of addiction in the workplace and how employers struggle to find ways to address it. I am hopeful to bring some options and solutions to the table for businesses and community leaders to learn that will help keep people employed or provide paths to employment for those that have previously struggled with the disease.

I previously served as a police officer in Bristol, TN. During my training in the police academy, I received top academic performer for my graduating class (Class 78 - Walters State). I also finished third (3rd) in my class for the state of Tennessee's Drug Recognition Expert School and was the only one to receive a perfect score on the final exam.
I have four young children and wife at home that have depended on my time when I am not working. In light of that, I have not been able to engage in the number of extracurricular activities as I would otherwise like to. Lastly, I have not had the honor of receiving a leadership award.
I am the Chief Strategy Officer of Cedar Recovery. My responsibilities include: Ensuring the strategic plan of the company is implemented and followed, new program development (Intensive Outpatient, Pharmacy, Opioid Treatment Program, Addiction Consultation Service, Peer Recovery Support, etc) and implementation, manage the contracting, credentialing, and relationship with all insurance payers, direct the government affairs and legislative efforts, recruit medical providers, make application for grants, and establish relationships in the communities we serve.
I have worked in Wilson County for almost three (3) years now and have had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people. At the same time, I have had a very limited view of the businesses, medical settings, and people that make up Wilson County. I hope to learn and gain as much knowledge as I can about Wilson County and the people and businesses it comprises. I also hope to gain understanding of the perspectives, challenges, and successes that everyone brings to the table in order for me, as a member of Cedar Recovery, to bring value to Wilson County. I am hopeful that I will utilize my experience through Leadership Wilson to help shape the strategy of how Cedar Recovery can better serve the community through the two (2) treatment facilities we have in the county.
