Major Barriers

In the past it has been my schedule at work, but that is no longer an issue.

Community Challenge / Issue / Goal

Many people are impacted by traumatic experiences and those experiences impact their decision making. I would like to help create awareness about this issue, and help teach people to become more resilient and better decision makers. In addition, due to traumatic experiences for families, having a mentor or role model is an advantage some of our students do not have. Mentoring relationships can have a positive, life-changing impact on students, and there are economic benefits for our county when students become adults with better decision-making skills. I would like to help develop a mentorship model at a school which could be a model for other schools in the county.
